Let’s Talk About Hair!!!

Hello Beauty Friends,

Let’s talk about hair? I know that hair is the number 1 concern for us women. We are always doing stuff to our hair, highlights, perms, straightening, blow dry, so many things…. All of this, is doing harm to our hair. On this department I feel a little bit odd. My mom was always scaring me, saying that if I did anything on my hair it would never be same again, that it would become gray sooner, etc. So I NEVER did anything besides trimming/cutting it. When I was a teenager, I started using hair oil to prevent split ends, and three years ago I got addicted to hair masks.

I have a straight/thick/normal hair, but my hair is picky. Why is it picky? I can not use the same shampoo more than 3 times in a roll because it gets fuzzy, dry you name it. So I need to always have another set in hand. There are 3 brands that I use without any problems (Dove, Loreal and Pantene). With my hair damp I like to apply my Redken 5th Avenue NYC, which is an anti-breakage leave-in treatment (has protein and ceramide, US$18.00 at Ulta). On the other days I use my Pantene Pro-V Serum with Argan Oil  only on the tips of my hairUsually I buy it at my local Walmart for less then US$7.00). Just pay attention when applying the oils because If you put too much hair oil, obviously that your hair is going to get oily.

I usually wash my hair 3 to 4 times a week. I try not to wash it a lot, because once I read that your scalp needs a full 24 hours to be completely dry. Once a week, I wash it with a different shampoo but every two weeks I wash with a Clarifying Shampoo from Moroccanoil  (US$26.00) for a good detox. It is expensive, but you just can use it every other week. I also use a hair mask once a week. I like to vary my hair mask too, I love mine from Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask, Peter Lamas Youth Revival 5 Oil Hair Treatment (that I got from my June Ipsy bag) and if you are on a budget I like the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle ones (this was the one that got me addicted to hair masks).

This week for the first time I used a pre-wash treatment with protein. I absolutely loved it. The review of it, is coming up soon on my #bonitavoxbox from @influenster.

My Clarifying Shampoo from Moroccanoil doesn’t leave my hair dry (I think it is because I have a thick and heavy hair). But I have I friend with a very fine hair that gets really funky, but the next day or so, when the her hair starts to produce oil again, it comes back to normal.

The Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask is fabulous, so is the Peter Lamas. It does not leave the hair oily. I also use any kind from Aussie 3 Minute Miracle, it is really good for the price.

One thing that I am going to buy next is a protective oil for swimming and beach, to protect my hair from the UVA/UVB rays.

How is your hair routine?

Want to hear from you.

Love,

Andrea
